There are many instances in life when you wish to do things on your own. But, when you consider taking a pre-workout supplement, you have to follow the directions. Most of the time, you will come across the directions on the container’s label.

However, it’s better to consider taking a supplement half an hour before exercise. So, as you read ahead, let’s check out how much quantity you need to take when you consider the best pre workout for men.

How much quantity of pre-workout do you need to take daily?

When you know that all pre-workouts are different, you must follow the directions first. If you consume a powder or pill of a particular brand, you must take it 30 to 45 mins before the workout. You have to mix around 18.9 grams of the supplement with an adequate amount. If you’re not used to caffeine, dissolve only half the packet. But, before you measure out the supplement, factor in the quantity of caffeine in every scoop. You must also be sure about how much you will consume before the workout.

Most of the brands recommend you to take a maximum of two scoops every day. On the higher side, you must not exceed 200 mg per scoop. With this in mind, it means that you will be consuming 400 mg of caffeine with every serving. Compared to a cup of coffee, the quantity will be relatively high.

If you take a pre-workout supplement in excess, it will lead to vomiting. Your blood pressure is also bound to increase with excess supplements. Besides, you will experience cramps and feel giddy before the workout. A bit later, you will feel sleepy, and your heart will start beating faster. You will also think about rest as your head will start aching, and you will feel anxious. So, when you know that excess supplements can cause side effects, you must not take a whole serving at the beginning.

Is it a good idea to take a pre-workout for weight loss?

A pre-workout supplement will not drive your body to burn more fat. Instead, it will boost workout performance and help to achieve fitness goals. The longer you can maintain the efforts during workouts, you will burn more calories. Way ahead, you can lose more weight as time passes by.

The supplement will delay the onset of fatigue and enhance performance at the gym. You will be happy as the pre-workout will boost energy and endurance along with focus. You will also maintain your energy level when you start with your exercises. You will start realizing the effect when beta-alanine excites the neurons and leads to a tingling sensation.

Is it OK to take a dry scoop before workouts?

If you consume the pre-workout without water, it is known as ‘dry scooping’. Such a practice can lead to an overdose, and you will face the side effects. Swallowing dry powder can also lead to choking and aspiration pneumonia, and you will also find it tough to breathe for some time.

Moreover, you are bound to face problems with digestion with insomnia and dehydration. Dry scooping can even lead to seizures and irregular heartbeats. If the pre-workout contains taurine, it can enhance the effect of caffeine. Eventually, the excess powder can be dangerous to your body.

Bottom Line

Finally, before you commence a pre-workout regimen, you need to talk with the doctor. It may be risky if you take the supplement if you are suffering from lung problems, heart diseases, or any kind of health issues. Never think about consuming a supplement if your age is below 18 years.

On the other hand, you should check the label and confirm whether the product is safe. Even if the container bears a seal, it doesn’t mean that the product will enhance athletic performance. The right ingredients will eventually help drive you through when you visit the gym.
